The new facility will include a basement car park and supporting amenities, such as multi-function meeting / activity space and a roof terrace. The project has aspirational sustainability, wellness and NZC objectives including BREEAM Outstanding, WELL Platinum, ActiveScore certified, and LETI carbon targets.

The building has been designed with both immediate efficiency and future flexibility in mind. It will be able to respond to the continually changing needs of science and, as the project is being developed for speculative tenants at present, the design proposal is necessarily highly adaptable in terms of how the floorplates can be subdivided and serviced by tenants’ CAT B fit-outs.

The MEP design considered the requirements for a set number of tenancies across each floor level, although the building could also be let as a single tenancy.
