This Heritage Property located just South of Kensington Gardens in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea underwent a major reconstruction to convert the existing terraced dwelling into an exclusive luxury residence.
The “Arts and Crafts” façade was retained whilst the internal space was transformed into a luxurious home comprising two basement levels and three above ground levels. The Arts and Crafts movement was a British art and design movement that grew from a desire to revive the skill of craftsmanship. The philosophy of this movement aimed to restore simplicity and honesty to how buildings and furnishings were made. The simplicity in the design of the building façade creates a beautiful juxtaposition with the opulence of the interior design.
Scotch designed the Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health services to exacting specifications. The residence was designed with a building-wide IT/AV communication system, a state-of-the-art automated building management system, integrated security and sprinkler systems and vertical transportation to allow for the highest level of home sophistication and convenience. Scotch also designed the systems that supply the luxurious indoor swimming pool that occupies one of the two basement levels.
