The Scotch team pledge their commitments to a greener future

Today is Earth Day, an annual global event that celebrates the environmental movement and raises awareness about pollution and ways to maintain a clean habitat. First celebrated in 1970, Earth Day is now acknowledged in more than 193 countries worldwide. It is recognized as the largest people led event and is credited with launching the modern day environmental movement.

The Earth Day 2022 theme is ‘Invest In Our Planet. What Will You Do?’ To honour this, we asked the Scotch team to make a pledge – a change they will make in their lives that will have a positive impact on the environment.

Pledges that the Scotch team have made include:

  • Walk to local amenities when we would usually drive
  • Carry a re-usable shopping bag
  • Have a meat free day at least once a week
  • Lower the temperature on our washing cycle
  • Change our energy supplier to a clean energy source

The three pillars of Earth Day 2022 are that we need to act (boldly), innovate (broadly), and implement (equitably). At Scotch Partners, our fast expanding Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) work, enables contractors and construction specialists to reinvent their approach to everyday business by prioritising sustainability at each stage of business processes. We help guide these businesses to:

  • Act boldly in their targets for water and energy usage and waste generation as part of their improved environmental processes.
  • Innovate broadly when developing a more socially sustainable environment, via implementation of new skills and employment opportunities, educational outreach and community plans
  • Implement equitable new governance requirements including minimum responsible contractor certification standards and legal compliance for responsible site management.

So, whether you are responsible for the ESG projects in your business or an individual who wants to make a difference to the world where we live. Let Earth Day be the day that you make your pledge. Invest in our planet – what will you do?
