About the role:
- Task Management: Support project delivery by managing and completing assigned tasks under the guidance of senior team members.
- Project Sustainability Integration: Collaborate with project teams to integrate sustainability principles, strategies, and best practices into all phases of construction projects.
- BREEAM: Trained to assist in undertaking BREEAM assessments with a view to potentially becoming a BREEAM AP and Assessor.
- WELL/Fitwel Certification: Contribute to wellness certification processes from initiation through to completion, supporting lead assessors with a pathway to becoming a WELL AP or Fitwel Ambassador.
- Embodied Carbon: Support the team in producing Whole Life Carbon Assessments, BREEAM LCA’s and Carbon Optioneering Assessments.
- Circular Economy: Help develop Circular Economy Statements and strategies, promoting sustainable resource use.
- Sustainability Statements: Produce sustainability statements for submission to the local planning authority.
- Personal Development and Training: Enhance your knowledge of sustainability practices and industry certifications through continuous learning and professional development
- Collaboration: Provide support to and work collaboratively with other members of Scotch including MEP and acoustics.
About you:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., sustainability, environmental science, engineering, architecture). Master’s degree is preferred but not required.
- 1 year experience as a Graduate Sustainability Consultant (or similar), preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated interest in sustainability, with a focus on the built environment.
- Basic understanding and some experience with BREEAM, WELL, or other sustainability assessment frameworks (internships, projects, or coursework) is preferred but not required.
- Basic understanding of Embodied Carbon and/or Circular Economy principles is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Eagerness to learn and develop professional skills in sustainability.
- Basic knowledge of UK sustainability (and relevant energy/carbon) policy frameworks and legislation, including The London Plan, is beneficial but not required.
- Experience in producing sustainability-related reports (academic or professional) is beneficial but not required.
Work Environment:
Our business culture is based on respect and support. Your role will require desk-based work, site visits, and attendance at in-person meetings. It involves collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, clients and FM teams. Your primary place of work will be the office but this can be a hybrid role to allow working from home.
